The Future of Food Conference 2022 will take place on June 16 in Brussels, with an aim to explore how agri-food innovation can enable and accelerate the decarbonisation of the EU’s food system. Organised by EIT Food, one of the eight innovation communities established by the European Institute for Innovation & Technology (EIT) of the European Union, the event will center around the topics of climate smart and sustainable agriculture, as well as protein diversification.
With a list of high-level actors, the Future of Food Conference will discuss about several issues, such as the ways research and innovation can support industry commitments for achieving the zero-net emissions goal by 2050, and how the youth can be empowered in the food system transformation.
Following the plenary sessions, five parallel sessions will be available to the participants, in order for them to join the conversation, share their views and interact with each other. For each session, EIT food will provide a concept note to brief participants and guide the conversation, regarding five topics, including but limiting to the role of education in attracting young people towards a career in the agri-food sector, and how can sustainable practices in the food industry become the norm.
